Ingredients

  1. 2 large Lion’s Mane mushrooms 
  2. 2 tbsp olive oil;
  3. 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar 
  4. 1 tsp soy sauce 
  5. 1 tsp smoked paprika 
  6. 1/2 tsp garlic powder  
  7. Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F.  Clean the Lion’s Mane mushroom by gently wiping it with a wet paper towel. DO NOT RINSE! Lion’s mane will absorb water and become soggy.  Using a sharp knife, slice the mushrooms into 1/2-inch thick steak.

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Place the steaks in a baking dish and brush with the marinade. Allow the mushrooms to marinate for 15-20 minutes.  

Heat a cast iron pan and drizzle a small amount of olive oil over it. Place the steaks in the pan, sear them, and press them using another pan. Cook each side for 10 minutes and then serve hot.
